The Soundtrack of My Live IV
So, today it’s a song that reminds me of a simpler time…and not necessarily “simpler” in a good way. My version of “simpler” was my early years of college. You know, I did pretty much whatever I wanted and hardly ever thought of the consequences. I thought I was invincible. I didn’t have to have a fulltime job. I didn’t even really have to go to class. I didn’t have bills and house payments and responsibities…but my head was a wreck. I didn’t really know who I was or what I wanted out of college…or out of life, really. I was very confused about everything and it truly was the most difficult time of my life. So, “simpler” on a certain plane and much more difficult on another. This song was popular before then, but was played over and over and over again during my first 2 years of college. And I never tired of it. I still love it. I love the music, the lyrics, the message.
In The Meantime by Spacehog
And in the end we shall achieve in time
The thing they call divine
When all the stars will smile for me
When all is well and well is all for all
And forever after
Maybe in the meantime wait and see
Chorus
We love the all the all of you
Our lands are green and skies are blue
When all in all we’re just like you
We love the all of you
And when I cry for me I cry for you
With tears of holy joy
And did I ever say I’d never play
Or fly toward the sun
Maybe in the meantime, something’s gone
Chorus
Well that sounds fine so I’ll see you sunshine
Give my love to the future of the humankind
Okay, okay, it’s not okay.
While it’s on my mind there’s a girl that fits the crime
For a future love dream that I’m still to find
But in the meantime.
Chorus
I get alot from this song. And it does really relate to college life…on some level or another. Things will change (according to my version, the change is death), but enjoy life “in the meantime.” Live for today because it won’t be here for long. The future is inevitable no matter what it holds. What do you all think??
